Artesyn Technologies Introduces the BXF300/400 Series DC/DC Converters

March 26, 2000 by Jeff Shepard

Artesyn Technologies Inc. (Boca Raton, FL) introduced the BXF300/400 Series of high-density, full-brick, dc/dc converters. With a range to standard features and industry-leading output current ratings, the series is designed to give designers greater flexibility in managing their high-density power needs.

The BXF300/400 is designed for distributed power applications in the computing and communications markets. The single-output BXF300/400 is built in the industry-standard, full-brick footprint. It is initially available with output voltages of 3.3V, 2.5V, 2V, 1.8V and 1.5V, with a 48V (36V to 75V) input.

According to Artesyn, the BXF300/400 Series offers the highest current solutions on the market for customers requiring an industry-standard package. Users can draw up to 60A from the BXF300, and 80A from the BXF400. All BXF300/400 models offer a wide range of standard features, including short-circuit, over-voltage and over-temperature protection, which safeguard expensive circuitry and ensure reliable operation. The modules also include wide trim capability, remote sensing and remote on/off. The BXF300/400 has a 1,500Vdc isolation rating and carries full international safety approval.

Samples of the BXF300 and BXF400 can be delivered now from stock with eight-week lead times for production orders. In quantities of 500, the BXF300 is priced at $179 and the BXF400 is priced at $183.
