Artesyn Intros NLP110 AC/DC Power Supply Series

May 06, 1999 by Jeff Shepard

Artesyn Technologies Inc. (Minneapolis, MN) has introduced the NLP110 Series of ac/dc power supplies. Comprised of four models, the series offers an open-frame design with both single and multiple outputs.According to Artesyn, the NLP110 is the first 110W ac/dc power supply with low voltage outputs to meet ht new harmonic current content standard EN61000-3-2, which will take effect in 2001. The power supply series also complies with EN55022 and FCC Part 15 radiated and conducted noise emissions standards with margin and is CE marked to meet the Low Voltage Directive. The series is designed for network applications including access concentrators, mid-range routers, LAN switches and shared media hubs. With output voltages ranging from 3.3 to 48V, the NLP110 multiple-outlet models deliver equal amounts of current over multiple, low-voltage outputs. The series supports the industry transition from SV logic to 3.3V logic and in the near future to 2.5V logic, affording designers greater flexibility in their implementation of logic with different operating voltages and providing a migration path for future designs. All versions of NLP110 come in a 3 x 6.5 x 1.26 inch package that is compatible with stackable and stand-alone networking products in a 1U form factor box. Models are rated for both free air convection and 150LPM (system provided) reducing forced air requirements. Single-output 5V, 12V and 48V models, as well as one triple-output model (3.3V/5V/12V) can be ordered now with eight week lead times. The power supplies are priced at $88 each in quantities of 100.
