APT Presents APT15S20G/APT30S20C Diodes

March 30, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Advanced Power Technology Inc. (APT, Bend, OR) announced its new line of 200V rugged Schottky diodes in hermetic packages, which offer several improvements over existing epitaxial diodes, including lower forward voltage drop to minimize conduction losses, softer reverse recovery characteristics, avalanche energy rated for improved reliability, and built-in hermetic TO-257 and TO-254 packages for hi-rel applications or harsh environments where added protection is required.

Designs with the new Schottky diodes will have 10 percent to 15 percent lower losses then FREDs with the same voltage ratings. The diodes can replace FREDs as output rectifiers in high-power 48Vdc converters and as free-wheeling and anti-parallel diodes in low-voltage converters. The 200V, 15A and 30A Schottky diodes are available in TO-257 and TO-254 hermetic packages.

Limited samples of the APT15S20G and APT30S20C are available now with volume production also available. Small-volume pricing (500 pieces) ranges from $47.55 to $61.23. Military screening option is available.
