Allegro MicroSystems Intros ACS750ECA-100 Sensor

September 25, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Allegro MicroSystems Inc. (Worcester, MA) announced its ACS750ECA-100, a fully integrated, ±100A, open-loop, current sensor, which is targeted for the automotive, industrial and commercial markets with end applications to include UPS systems, motor control applications, battery monitor and engine management systems, and heating systems.

The ACS750ECA-100 is a monolithic Hall IC that provides high reliability and offers low power loss, as the internal resistance is less than 1 milliohm. The power leads are electrically isolated from the sensing circuitry. The ACS750ECA-100 features a programmable, linear, Hall-effect device for low thermal drift; dimensions of 10mm x 13mm x 7mm; two primary power conductive leads that allow current to pass through a ferrite core over the sensing element of a Hall IC; and a bandwidth of 13kHz.

The ACS750ECA-100 is supplied in a "CA" package, will have a 20-week ARO lead time to market and is priced at $4.50 in quantities of 10,000.
