Alabama Power (Birmingham, AL) has opened a state-of-the-art facility to service, maintain and promote zero-emission EVs. This EV service center is a first for Southern Company and one of the first in the country. It includes maintenance, service and support for the company's expanding EV fleet, educational tools for schools to teach and demonstrate EV technology, and a showroom to exhibit the latest EV technology.
"This facility represents Alabama Power's continued commitment to technology that can improve air quality," said Elmer Harris, Alabama Power president and CEO. "Electric cars, trucks and buses are the only zero-emission forms of transportation. They are clean, quiet and efficient."
