AEP Announces 12 Schools Have Joined Solar Schools Program

American Electric Power (AEP, Columbus, OH) announced that eleven schools in Ohio and one in Texas have signed on to the Solar Schools program. The international Solar Schools program is a collaborative effort of AEP, BP Solar, the Foundation for Environmental Education, the federal and state governments and local communities. The first such school, Bluffsview Elementary in Worthington, Ohio, dedicated its 2,000W photovoltaic (PV) system in early March."I am very pleased that the program has grown so quickly," stated AEP Chairman, President and CEO E. Linn Draper Jr. "We are making great progress towards our initial goal of recruiting 100 schools."
