July 18, 2017 by Paul Shepard

TRUMPower has launched its highly efficient 90W TDM90-19.5 ac-dc medical grade power adapters, which are set at 19.5V output voltage and specifically designed to charge Dell laptops. The power adapters come with a power-on LED indicator and a 5.1x7.4x12.5mm barrel connector with a 0.6mm signal pin, which are compatible with many of the Inspiron, Latitude, Precision, Studio, Vostro, and XPS series Dell laptops.

The TDM90 series is approved by UL/cUL and TUV to the latest medical standards, including IEC/EN/UL 60601-1 Edition 3.1, ANSI/AAMI ES 60601-1: 2012, CSA-C22.2 No. 60601-1: 2014. The power adapter complies with IEC/EN 60601-1-2 4th edition medical EMC and immunity standards including EN 55011 & 55022/FCC/VCCI class B (conducted and radiated emissions), EN 61000-3-2, EN 61000-3-3, EN 61000-4-2 (ESD at 15kV air and 8kV contact), EN 61000-4-3, EN 61000-4-4, EN 61000-4-5, EN 61000-4-8, EN 61000-4-11.

Operating at 90- to 264-Vac universal input, the units come equipped with the IEC320/C6 ac inlet for the Class I model and the IEC 320/C8 ac inlet for the Class II model. The power supply measures 6.30" (L) x 2.52" (W) x 1.37" (H) for class I units and 5.94" (L) x 2.52" (W) x 1.37" (H) for class II units.

The TDM90 series is in compliance with DoE & Energy Star level VI and ErP stage II requirements. It carries CE marking, is RoHS compliant and has PSE approval as well. The units are comprehensively protected against short circuit, over voltage, over current, over temperature conditions and deliver a reliable 300,000 hours MTBF at 25°C ambient calculated per Telcordia SR-332. With touch current being lower than 100µA at 264Vac, 63Hz, the power adapter can operate at an ambient temperature range of 0°C to +40°C.
