First 800V Thyristors Specified for Operation to 150 Degrees C

November 06, 2017 by Paul Shepard

Shindengen Electric Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has developed the KC8SF80 thyristor which has a guaranteed large current and rated voltage of 800V and Tj = 150°C.

Thyristors required in generators, industrial equipment, and other applications usually have a rated voltage of 800V but with only a guaranteed Tj up to 125°C. Products with a guaranteed Tj of 150°C were only available for products with a 600V rated voltage.

In recent years there has been an increase in demand for guaranteed Tj = 150°C for large current compatible 800V products, and in response Shindengen has developed the KC8SF80 thyristor which is the industry's first 8A current, 800V rated voltage thyristor with a guaranteed Tj = 150°C.

Going forward, Shindengen plans to further expand its offering of high-temperature thyristors rated for operation at 800V.

Features:

  • High current, high-withstand voltage 8A current, 800V rated voltage
  • Tj = 150°C guaranteed at 800V rated voltage
  • Utilizes insulated SC-91 full mold package
