60V MOSFETs Feature Ultra-low Rds(on) for Industrial Applications
International Rectifier Corp. today announced the expansion of its StrongIRFET™ MOSFET portfolio to include 60V devices for a wide variety of industrial applications including power tools, light electric vehicle inverters, dc motor drives, Li-ion battery pack protection, and switched mode power supply secondary-side synchronous rectification. These devices are offered in both through-hole packages (with current ratings up to 195A and an Rds(on) of 2.0 milliOhms in a TO-220 package or 2.4 milliOhms in a TO-247 package) and surface-mount packages (with current ratings up to 240A, with an Rds(on) of 1.4 milliOhms in a D2-PAK-7).
The new family of 60V StrongIRFETâ„¢ power MOSFETs feature ultra-low on-state resistance (Rds(on)) for improved performance in low-frequency applications, very high-current carrying capability, soft body diode, and 3V typical threshold voltage to improve noise immunity. Qg ratings for the through-hole-packaged devices range from 272 nC to 58 nC and from 236 nC to 88 nC for the surface-mount devices. Each device in the family is 100% avalanche tested at industry highest avalanche current levels to ensure the most robust solution for demanding industrial applications.
