3-Watt DC-DCs Optimized for Cost, Efficiency & Performance

June 26, 2018 by Paul Shepard

Traco Power has announced the release of their TEC 3 series of 3-Watt dc-dc converters in compact SIP8 packages using the latest technologies to reduce cost while improving efficiency and performance.

The TEC 3 Series consists of 32 models offering inputs of 4.5- to 13.2-Vdc, 9- to 18-Vdc, 18- to 36-Vdc, and 36- to 75-Vdc and outputs of 3.3-, 5-, 9-, 12-, 15-, 24-, ±12-, and ±15-Vdc with efficiencies of 75% to 86%.

These 3W dc-dc converters provide: isolation of 1,600Vdc; full load operation from -40°C to +75°C (derate 3.4%/K above 75°C up to 90°C); tight regulation of 0.2% line and 0.5% load (10-90% load); undervoltage input protection; over-current protection; short-circuit protection; and remote on/off control.

The series has been qualified: to meet MIL-STD-810F for shock, vibration and thermal shock; for high reliability of >5 million hours per MIL-HDBK-217F; to meet IEC/EN/ES 62368-1 (UL60950-1) safety standards; and to meet EN55032 Class A standards for conducted noise.

All models are backed by Traco Power’s 3 year warranty. Products are in stock and available through the Traco Power’s global distribution network with manufacturing lead times of 12 weeks (typical).
