Phoenix Contact has added compact ac-dc power supplies ranging from 30- to 100-W to the premium QUINT POWER family. With these new low-wattage additions, control engineers can select a more precise power supply for their low-power applications, while still getting advanced QUINT POWER features, such as preventative monitoring and power reserve.

All of the new low wattage additions feature QUINT POWER’s power boost of up to 200 percent the nominal current. This allows inductive loads to start without disrupting the output voltage.

The power boost provides additional power to an application, which eliminates the need to install an oversized power supply. The new QUINT POWER low wattage additions are the first small power supplies with configurable alarming.

The new QUINT POWER low wattage products are available with either push-in or screw connection technology for easy installation. They are also NEC Class 2 classified. A summary of features includes:

  • Preventative function monitoring with an adjustable signal output enables LED and remote digital monitoring to detect critical operating states before faults occur
  • Dynamic power boost of up to 200 percent of the nominal current for up to five seconds offers the option to reliably start inductive loads without disrupting the output voltage
  • Permanent static power boost of up to 125 percent of the nominal current gives users the option to easily extend the system without switching to a larger power supply (1.3 A and 2.5 A options only)
  • Choice of either push-in or screw connection
  • Compact design creating essential space savings for smaller applications
  • High efficiency allowing for energy savings, lower self-heating, and an increased service life of the power supply
  • Device startup at -40°C ensuring reliable operation under extreme ambient conditions
