150W and 250W quad-output power supplies

November 07, 1999 by Jeff Shepard

Lambda Electronics Inc. (Melville, NY) announced it is readying a family of power supplies designed to work specifically with the computer bus standard CompactPCI. The ac/dc power supplies will be available in 150W and 250W quad-output packages and will provide power factor correction. Both models will be available in a 3U (5.25 tall) format. The CPCI Series is available with high power 5V and 3V outputs and is designed to be compliant to PICMG 2.11. Lambda sits on the PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturers Group (PICMG) Council, a consortium of industrial computer vendors who develop specs for CompactPCI-based systems and boards used in industrial, telecommunications and computing applications. We are pleased to be included on this council, said David Norton, Lambda marketing manager. We can offer Lambda's expertise gained from 50 years of power supply design in creating specifications, and in turn Lambda can be more in touch with what is happening inside the industry. This will help us develop technology today that meets future CompactPCI applications. In OEM quantities, the CPCI Series will be priced at $150 for the 150W and $250 for the 250W model. Samples will be available in November.
